Needless to say, 2020 didn't start off as I'd expected. My computer's motherboard failed on me, and just a few days later, my childhood hero died. I'm still processing Kobe's death. This one's gonna hurt for a while. Anyone who's been following the site since the heyday, back when I used to splatter this page with purple and gold - especially around April, May, and June, if you know get what I'm saying - knows how important Kobe was to me. And always will be.

I've been coping/mourning by getting heavy/ier into NBA basketball and hooping at local parks. Feels healthy. Listening to rap music from the late-90s/early-2000s has been helping, too, because I associate that era in rap with Kobe's coming of age. Lot of Jay-Z/Roc-A-Fella shit. And regardless of this process, sometimes I get into these moods where I just can't get into new music. But then the pendulum swings and getting back into contemporary music becomes imperative. So... here we are in late February with my first new music mix of 2020 lol. As always, some of this, some of that...
