Like the "Tribestrumentals" compilation I dropped a few days ago, "Southside Soul" is yet another conceptual mix I've had picking up digital dust on one of my hard drive's folders titled "HHIR Projects." This is kind of a personal best-of 50 Cent compilation, the only caveat being that the beats gotta contain (soul) samples. Hence, "Southside Soul." This mix takes me back to my high school days, when "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" just dropped, and any mix I compiled and burned using my laptop had to fit within the CD-R confines of 80 minutes or less. "Southside Soul" clocks in at around 79 minutes 22 seconds. This is great winter music, so I figured I'd drop it around January, which just so happens to be a few weeks before the 13th anniversary of GRODT. So enjoy... and turn it up!!

Last but not least, I wanna thank all the amazing HHIReaders who have contributed to the tip jar so far. Much appreciated! Like I said before, if you're feeling generous, please consider a contribution to Hip Hop Is Read. It's not tax-deductible, but if my work receives a nice amount of financial support, I can promise I'll keep doing this for years to come... Salute!
