"Radio... suckas never play me"
This past weekend, my man Chuck D had femcee extraordinaire MC Lyte on his show On the Real (quickly becoming one of my addictions). They discussed the influence of Hip-Hop by corporate structures as well as the paradoxes of the few women who maintain powerful control over these empires (has anyone seen that new-ish Boondocks episode?) and the way in which they allow their fellow ladies to be portrayed by mainstream 'artists.' MC Lyte discussed how she's managed to stay above the fray. Oh, and MC Lyte digs Obama ;-D ... Definitely worth a listen, so check it out:
