The Tape Deck #498 >>> Queens to Buffalo and Back

Back in July, the great James Caan passed away. Over the following couple of weeks, I paid tribute by going on a little film marathon, focusing on movies of his that I hadn’t seen. I started with Hide in Plain Sight, filmed in Buffalo, New York, which stood out to me because it was the Queens-bred Caan’s first and only directorial effort.

“Queens to Buffalo and back.” – Meyhem Lauren

About a week later, Meyhem Lauren came out with a track featuring Conway the Machine titled “Red Pesto." The moment I heard that single, off Meyhem Lauren & Daringer’s new album, I knew I wanted to merge the two territories in the form of the return of The Tape Deck. Time for another HHIR supergroup. Laurenovich. La Maquina. Who else? For Queens: we’ve got Action Bronson and the pioneer Kool G Rap. And for Buffalo: the rest of the Griselda trio, Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher. All 2022 tracks. ML, AB, WSG, CTM, and BTB have all dropped projects in 2022. I’m hearing KGR’s got something on the way as well…

Should The Tape Deck continue getting IG trailers like this? Lmk...

DL link coming soon… maybe…

Turn it up!!
