Justice for LaVena Johnson

Three years ago, LaVena Johnson, a 19-year old private serving in Iraq, was mysteriously pronounced dead. The Army called her death a suicide and pronounced the case to be closed. Further investigation has validated the claims that LaVena Johnson was in fact "raped, murdered, and her body was burned--by someone from her own military base!" Much like the arcane and cryptic cover-up of corporal Pat Tillman's death, LaVena Johnson's is yet another story that must be exposed to as many people as possible. To this day, the Army affirms to their proposed "suicide" story; will you?

I recently received an e-mail from Color Of Change, containing a petition to Congressman Henry Waxman (chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform) to fight for LaVena and her family's cause, to investigate the Army's cover-up. I've signed it and I'm hoping that some of my well-informed, good-willed Hip Hop Is Readers will do the same:
