Phat shouts to HHIR fam FXS (once again) for hooking up yet another West coast classic! Released in 1990, Livin' Like Hustlers was an influential West coast record spearheaded by none other than Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and other Left coast greats. As usual, this gangsta rap album is built heavily around a bevy of funk samples. Listen to this great sample set and feel free to throw up a dub or two, no matter where you are! Cop this!

ATL was (I guess still is) one of my favorite groups from Cali....187um, Total Chaos, KMG the Illustrator & DJ GoMack (what up Laylaw) came with some shit back in the day....when I first heard "Murder Rap" with what I believed to be an "Ironside" sample I went right to the record store (anybody remember those?) to get that shit!!! I know they gave Dr. Dre most of the credit for the albums production and his "influences" can be found throughout the project, but 187um seems to get slighted. I really really feel the melodic joints that he crafted as the group went forward (especially his work with Kokane!)
