Jay-Z Live at Glastonbury 2008 (DOWNLOAD)

It's safe to say that Mr. S. Carter silenced his critics (and then some) on June 28th, a day which will live in hip hop infamy. Kicking things off with a vengeful jab at Oasis guitarist/vocalist Noel Gallagher, Hov' went into a playful rendition of the Britpop band's popular 'Wonderwall' before unleashing a stellar performance of his own classic cuts. Hands down, Jay-Z did his damn thing... And guess what? Jay's set at Glastonbury is right here at Hip Hop Is Read as an exclusive download. Enjoy this historic (yes!) performance!

  2. Told you it was big. No rapper could have done that shit. 50 Cent was bottled with piss when he tried to do a festival. Kanye's too obsessed with the extras like the visuals. Jigga cmae through with a great set, some cool samples, insane flows. And most importantly of all...great charisma to win over a crowd of non-rap fans.

I was watchin live on BBC3 so there sould be a full rip somewhere on the net for those that missed out.

  7. Why are songs such as 'I Know' and 'Heart of the City'' missed out? They were possibly the two best tracks from the whole performance - disappointing to say the least!

  12. The whole show (including the tracks missing from your version) was shown live on TV in the UK on BBC Three. It's available to watch and download on BBC iplayer but I think that only works in the UK and the video can only be watched until Saturday.

  13. yeah that's pretty much the problem, unless you can find someone to rip it that's in the UK

  14. Personally although it was good to see a change and a shake up at Glastonbury, I can't help but think alot of people who went to see Jay-Z went to see it as a freak show that the media had built it into and all of them bought into it and alot of the crowd were there just because they would have been anyway and will now be banging on saying I was there the year Jay-Z played Glastonbury! Im sorry but it was about as groundbreaking as having a Banksy piece on the side of a porta loo! He never even did any Reasonable Doubt tracks and has been too busy producing others to come up with a album to even touch that, yes he has done some great tracks after that and even better production but most off all is a legendary business man and label owner and a very likeable person (see Jonathan Ross show) thats why ill always say he deserved to do Glasto and Noel Gallagher only unwittingly fueled a debate on hip hop! The best parts of his performance on the night were the freestyle and current themed raps inbetween which were very sharp! It was a great show and a great introduction to those narrow minded and childish people who think rock n roll is the only cool music form! As for Amy Winehouse....dont get me started, clean up your act love becuase it's plain rude to put in a performance like that to paying customers, we all love your voice but someone help her sort your life out for all of our sakes!

  15. Yes, his voice sounded so much louder and clearer on the 'freestyles' than on the other tracks. He sounded more interested in what he was actually saying.

  16. I have the performance here in full (1 hour 8 mins). But I'm not sure how to put the entire thing into tracked form. I have the video of it and I converted it to MP3 but I'm not sure how to track all the songs. Anybody know how to do it?

  17. According to BBC iplayer, the full performance is 2 hours long, not 1 hour 8 mins.

  18. The performance up here is the right one. It looks longer on the bbciplayer because thye have other performances at the beginning of the show whilst they were waiting for the main stage to be setup. Thanks a lot you guys for the mp3 business. I finished watching the show and I downloaded this immediately to continue the experience. Jay as actually good and thankfully non of that hypseman bullshit. Peace
