The Best Kept Secret: BKS Productions

If you've been hanging out around the site lately, you may have noticed the emergence of a logo for BKS Productions sitting atop the C-Box on the right-side column of the page. BKS who? For those who have been too lazy to actually click the logo (which contains a link to their Myspace page), lemme give you a brief introduction to Canada's Best Kept Secret Productions team:

The trio consists of promo/hypeman Degs, AJK, and DMC & ITF champ DJ Pump (catch him in action). The three have a real passion for dope Hip-Hop, by the same means by which I and many other purists continually strive for: the balance between the soulful and the gutter. Their style draws heavily from old-school R&B and funk cuts: right up my alley.

Featuring drops and shoutouts from the various likes of Hi-Tek, Alchemist, Kardinal Offishall, Stretch Armstrong and others, BKS Productions is poised to make a real impact in the underground Hip-Hop community.

BKS are currently showcasing 'Fresh Produce', their debut effort, for free download at their home page, here. An important feature to BKS Productions' sound is it's diverse yet suitable mix of featured artists. Everyone from Brooklyn ballers Jay-Z, Biggie & M.O.P., crack-rappers Clipse & Slim Thug, and street poets Common & Nas (just to name a few) hop onto the album, and the result is a 50-minute long 'product' of 'fresh' Hip-Hop blends.

Once again, you can cop BKS Productions' 'Fresh Product' RIGHT HERE, free of charge.

Still being stubborn? Take a quick listen:

Mobb Deep - Quiet Storm

Rich Boy - Throw Some D's

Nas - It Ain't Hard to Tell

...I thought so.
