Conventional Wisdom Week #1

Okay, here's a new feature I think I'll actually try 'n stay consist with. I call it 'Word on the Streets', a semi-...okay, fine, a COMPLETE rip-off of Newsweek magazine's Conventional Wisdom feature... with a hip-hop edge. Enjoy the first installment:

50 Cent:
...'Life's on the Line' for CJ (no, this ain't San Andreas) as he's currently facing a lukewarm reception/anticipation for his latest album Curtis. Back to his old tricks: dishes out hate every which way: 'Lil Wayne & Kanye West as well as Chamillionaire, Ghostface & Master P. SMH

Ja Rule:
...fails to compensate his contractor. Dial M for Miser! But that's nothing compared to the serious gun charges he faces (could serve up to 3 years in the penn).

Lil' Wayne:
...MTV's 'Hottest MC' prepares to release his album in December, one week before Christmas, seemingly to take advantage of the massive shopping craze. 'Tis the seaz' for 'Lil Weez'.

The West Coast:
...back crackin' like it's Ninety Fo'. Okay, maybe not, but surprising and good albums by 2Pac, WC & Young Noble/Hussein Fatal keep us content for the meanwhile and hopeful for the future. (Ice Cube plans to release a film adaptation of the graphic novel "10"... O'Shea = add him to the 'hip-hop nerds' list...)

The Wu-Tang Clan:
...can I get a SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU?
