Pitchfork Gives UGK an 8.4

Okay, I'm still kinda pissed off with Pitchfork's smear poor review for Finding Forever, but this is BIG news, at least to me. (It's needless to say that they've blown T.I. vs T.I.P. outta the water for "Southern album of the year"). Thank you Pitchfork for gettin' it right!!!

Congratulations to UGK. They're justifying the reason why hip-hop currently lives in the South...

  1. I'm STILL cheesed that finding forever got snubbed.

Then again I'm rarely rely on and/or go to pitchfolk.

    UGK deserves that push.

  4. ^ cuz I also tend to dabble into indie rock from time to time, and it's interesting to hear a predominantly rock-oriented "publication"'s take on hip-hop. It's just a new perspective....

  5. pitchfork covers hip hop part time.. i remember a 9+ rating for madvillain when that dropped in 2004 and various hip hip albums in their top records of the year. BUT ... their reviews are completely pretentious bullshit full time.
