Nas - God's Son [The Samples]

Released in 2002, 'God's Son' is arguably Nas' most introspective album to date. Sure, it's got some great singles like 'Made You Look' and 'I Can' and the professionally-worked diss track 'Last Real Nigga Alive', but it's the emotional and deep tracks that I fell in love with. 'Get Down' is one of my favorite Nas tracks, as he divulges into street narratives over smoothly laid James Brown funk samples. But arguably the album's highlight is his ode to his mom on 'Dance'. The sample used is on point, crafting a melancholy backdrop for Nas' reflections. All in all, this sample set has a bunch of great songs and was really fun to complete. Enjoy:
