ReplyDeleteQ-Tip at number one. Can still listen to it, which cant be said of Nas. Didnt hold my attention as much as expected.
Untitled was good, hell I bought it, but it diidnt quite live up to the hype and had some suspect tracks on it. Chris Brown & Game?
Renaissance was class throughout - lyrics and production.
Untitled was important in its subject matter and intent, but it wasnt executed as well as it could have been.
That said it was still a good album, and nobody else was even trying to do anything similar.
Props to Nas & Tip for some genuine hip-hop.
LAX was rubbish. Roots was nice.
RE: Kanye - it was a weak year. I wasn't a huge fan of 808's, but I respect it for its honesty. CD + LR >>>>>>>>>> G + 808
ReplyDeleteTronic gets HEAVY play on my iPod to this day. Black Milk crafted a banger. Nice list, other than Yeezy being in the Top 10. I respect his creativity but that album doesn't have much replay value IMHO. I'd much rather listen to Jake Uno's :-D
ReplyDeleteReally respectfull list, cant understand tho how game's lax could be be ahead of gza's pro tools - still one of my favourite wu albums in recent years. Also couldnt get into ice cubes raw footage, I had bigger expectations for a follow up from that classic 06' album laugh now cry later.
