Okay, so the track-by-track preference won by an overwhelming margin. I expected as much... To spice things up a bit, and to give it a little bit of a mixtape flavor, I might drop in some Kung Fu film snippets sampled on the Wu-records as well. Sound good?
Now here's another question I have for you, oh loyal HHIReader. When I tag the tracks (ID3), would you like me to include the song title that samples the original, or should I leave it a mystery. In other words, should the song title read "The Way We Were" or "The Way We Were ['Can It Be All So Simple']"?
Again, please respond in the comment section for another exhibition of hip hop democracy in action!

ReplyDeleteeither or but it is nice because it helps
ReplyDeleteLeave it a mystery and let us figure it out.I just like good sounding music whether it was samples or not.The majority of these samples sound better than the songs that samples them
ReplyDeleteIvan sir you are definitely a class act. What size t shirt do you wear and where can I send some? And I prefer the latter the song created in quotations. Definitely do the kung fu snippets
ReplyDeleteNo title is cool. So yeah, i'd prefer 'the way we were' instead of the other way..
ReplyDeleteThe Way We Were ['Can It Be All So Simple']
ReplyDeleteif you end up not tagging, could you have what the samples are in a text file?
I'd prefer just the track name and the original album it comes from. Dope blog by the way.
ReplyDeleteA mystery... will that be of chessboxin'?
ReplyDeleteLeave it a mystery and give the option of naming the tracks at a later date or from a link.
Blank but with a text file, that way people can change it if they want.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!!
Wohoo, Kung Fu film snippets!
ReplyDelete"The Way We Were" style with a text file sounds a great idea.

ReplyDeleteYeah. I love when you include the ID3. I've taken to it so much that I put that into my iTunes library, just in case someone else would like to know, or just for my own sake. Can't wait...
ReplyDeletei agree with moose
ReplyDeletei think u should leave it just as "The Way We Were" and maybe include a txt file with the song that samples it, cuz then we can find out ourself in wich song it was sampled, and still the lazy people can sneak peak :)
ReplyDeletewill the kung-fu snippets overlap the original compisitions?
ReplyDeleteSure, it would be better if you can include the song title that samples the original.
ReplyDeleteNow, if you also want to come to my place and clean the dishes, that's fine with me.
Thanks for all you do.

ReplyDeleteThe Way We Were ['Can It Be All So Simple'],,,
there is the breaks of ghost dog sountrack ?
ReplyDeletethank you
include the song title
ReplyDeleteId like to know the song the sample is used in..
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind knowing where the sample came from.
ReplyDeleteThe Way We Were ['Can It Be All So Simple']
ReplyDeleteI prefer the way that you have been doing it because when I read the song that used the sample I usually play the original and the sampled joint back to back just to see how the sample was freaked. It helps me to get into the mindframe of the producer and in a sense try to get a feel for why or how they might've used that particular sample. I say keep it as is. Thanks for all the hot sample sets that you have provided.
i think more info is always good. It is very cool to know the original so that we may appreciate were these tracks came from!
