HAIL TO THE CHIEF
We often fail to realize and value the various ways in which Bush fucked us over the last eight years. He entered into office with the pre-conceived intentions of going to war with Iraq. He took us to war over a lie; he told us to "go shopping" in the meantime. He suspended habeas corpus. He wiretapped our phones. He took away the very liberty he claimed to be fighting for. He opened up a torture facility off the coast of Florida. He was at the driving wheel as our economy tanked. He lied about being a "compassionate" conservative. He lied about nation-building. He did nothing while New Orleans and the Gulf Coast lay in waste. He never caught Osama Bin Laden. He denied global warming. He was behind the outing of Valerie Plame. He unjustly fired prosecutors. He was mano-a-mano with Jack Abramoff and Scooter Libby. He has the blood of over 4,000 American soldiers on his hands. ...all while getting paid to do it... by us! And that's just off the top of my head!
But we can thank George W. Bush for one thing, and that is as follows:
America is not perfect. I don't believe that the American public as a whole would have given Barack Obama a second look eight years ago (even if he had the same experience then as he does now). What changed? Bush certainly didn't make us a more tolerant nation. The social conflict theory of Marxist thinkers might explain this cultural shift. To put it bluntly, apparently shit had to get really fucked up before any change could be achieved, before things can get better. I adamantly believe that without President Bush, there could be no President Obama. So to that, I tip my hat to the one they call Dubya.
While giving him the finger.

what the F is that drummer doing?!? he's playing a completely different song!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately, there are some issues that I do have with Obama, although he DID say that there are certain decisions that he will make that we are going to disagree with..
ReplyDeleteone of them was that he approved the wiretapping vote by saying: "In a dangerous world, government must have the authority to collect the intelligence we need to protect the American people."- which was the same argument that the Bush Regime used as an excuse for having this bill passed.

another thing is that Obama isnt putting the Bush Administration on trial- for all the blood he collected in his hands for the past 8 years! It seems that after all that has happened- Obama fighting against Bush and his views, he's pretty much giving him a pat on his back- while when Clinton was in office they were ready and willing to get rid of his ass over a blowjob? That's totally unfair- and for us- the people to let that go by- is ridiculous..

other than that, i think he may be an okay president. seriously.
