Things have been going pretty well so far. Nothing's gotten deleted ever since I started splitting the posts in two (having no text -- particularly artist names and song titles -- on the download posts). I've got a quick question though, that can help me better accommodate your listening experience:
1) Should each volume be 100 MB instead of 200 MB? It seems like 200 Megs might be a bit too bulky if you're only looking for, say, 2 or 3 songs. Hundred Megs? Not as much. What do you think?

yo ivan... first off respect for all the good music on your sight this is probably one of the best sites i visit, i hit your site everyday, not just for music but information on various topics... . now i think that the 200mb tapedeck is fine personally, it gives more of a broader selection of tracks..

ReplyDeleteI love the Tape Deck posts. (And now there's an all-instrumentals version? You've kinda given me exactly what I wanted.) Your Tape Deck feature is the perfect format for absorbing a sample of hip hop's newest music all at once (handy if you've got a busy schedule), and I think that's true even if you don't download 'em and just take in the reviews.
ReplyDelete100mgb, IMO, is plenty though. If you wanna include more (which is completely encouraged), post more frequently, as opposed to cramming more songs into each archive.
The zshare vs. rapidshare debate is your call though. I don't know enough about hosting files to recommend either way.
They still make keyboards with the "delete" button don't they?

ReplyDeleterapidshare vs zshare .. I always find it to be a personal preference that is like Coke vs Pepsi. I love the rapidshare as a bulk .. if you were doing songs individually .. zshare is the best option
I think youre doing to many of the tapedecks recently. Keep it at good quality. More is not better everytime:)
ReplyDeleteI prefer rapidshare tough. Zshare isn't working for me anymore. Even Megaupload is better. Zshare works just for single tracks.
more CDQ & less stuff with dj's yelling or drops in the background

ReplyDeleteyo Ivan i personally prefer Rapidshare, its good for mid size & large files, but for singles i say use zshare.. megaupload is too much of a hassle.. you gonna put any new sample sets anytime soon? those were ill!!

ReplyDeleteI think as always quality>quantity, I think you touched on this earlier in regards to covering certain content that other blogs do, just b/c they get there first, doesn't mean that there doing it better.
Good example would be kevs album reviews or hip-hop post, the breakdown they do is worth the delay

ReplyDeleteI think I'm gonna make the individual Tape Decks a little smaller. Also, I'll try not to put EVERYTHING I get. Just the decent-to-good-to-great stuff.
We might continue running with themes as well.
ah another thing is when i upload these onto my itunes the artist says "Hip Hop Is Read" instead the actual artist of the song. why is this? it'd be alot easier if the artist and song name were already there.

From volume #14 I started adding the proper ID3 tagging for the artist. I'm too lazy to go over #1-#13 though... :D
