Three-1-Zero Presents... '99 Lakers LP

'99 was a big year for us L.A. natives. Collectively, we watched our Lakers bulk up into the dynasty they'd become for the following three seasons, dominating the league with no remorse (Pacers, Queens, 5.9ers, Suns, Spurs, Nets, WHAT?). It was also the last year that the Lake Show would spend their games in the Great Western Forum (now known simply as "The Forum"). It was a miserable season, but like the death and ultimate rebirth of a phoenix, the '98-'99 season represented the dawn of a new era for the Purple and Gold. Channeling this energy, Inglewood, Cali emcee Three-1-Zero has put out a release dedicated entirely to the Lakers' '98-'99 season. I was skeptical at first, but the sh*t is bangin' (plus how could I turn down a fellow Laker fan?). Some of my favorites on this joint include "Kurt Rambis", "Eddie Jones", "Travis Knight", "Elden Campbell" and... aw man, I could go on and on. Just check it out! Download Three-1-Zero's '99 Lakers LP @ Badongo or peep it right here with the iMeem embedded player. Dubs up!

  1. Damn, and I remember that playoff game in 99. I was actually watching that shit at Hollywood Park. Was with my Grandmother and the fam for a day @ the races. That one hurt.

I also remember that Tyrone Lue goin all out that second half as well. The concept of this tape is crazy. As a proud Laker fan, I approve.

  2. Great mix tape! I saw that 99 LAL team play Orlando. Kobe put on a second half in ORL that showed the talent that he was. 30 plus in the 2nd half on a Sunday NBA on NBC game.

BTW, Large Professor did Nas' "Halftime" beat, not Pete Rock.
