Round two in my "Rewind: The Tape Deck 2010-2019" series showcases the work of one of my favorite, consistently-great producers, The Alchemist. Over the past decade, the diversity of his sample sources - and what he does with them - has probably been what's intrigued me most about his evolution as a producer. Because of that, you never really know what you're gonna hear when you see that "Produced by (The) Alchemist" tag. I like that. This compilation's got 21 tracks - all handpicked from previous volumes of The Tape Deck - and features a thoro(ugh) roster of frequent and familiar collaborators like Prodigy, Action Bronson, Oh No, Roc Marciano, ScHoolboy Q, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, and much, much more.
