I get the sense that Drake wants to be the rap version of this guy...



Instead, he's actually a bit closer to this guy...



Don't get me wrong. Ask me if Drake is a talented cat...



But I've noticed that he coasts through most of his albums like...



It seems to me like the self-image Drake portrays is his #1 priority...



As a result, the music itself suffers as it takes a backseat...



The question is, why should I?...



Lyrically, he shows occasional flashes of brilliance...



And the production on this record is dope, either on some mean-mugging sh*t...



For the club...



Or in the whip...



A handful of these tracks are definite keepers that I'll be f*cking with for a while...



But the album as a whole...?



I listened to the album in its entirety 5+ times already and now I feel like...



Bottom line:



...and that goes for your verses on "Pound Cake" too, Hov!
