With Detroit coming up short today against the undefeated Packers, Lions fans (and music lovers) can take some solace in Mayer Hawthorne's halftime performance recorded in his parents' basement in Michigan. With his dad on bass and a backing band of local Detroit musicians, Mayer Hawthorne and Co. provided a healthy alternative to Nickelback, a group so despised they even inspired a petition to get them booted off the bill.
