Aloe Blacc - "Femme Fatale"

"Femme Fatale", originally from Velvet Underground & Nico's eponymous classic, is handled nicely by Stones Throw artist Aloe Blacc who continues to impress me with his Bill Withers-like voice. The music video is finally here and I couldn't be more delighted, due in large part to its film noir inspiration. As a big fan of film noir, I'm impressed by the cinematography which aims to portray the classic femme fatale persona, a staple of the genre, while capturing the requisite black and white aesthetic. Velvet Underground and film noir? That's about as good as it gets for me. You might even call it Double Indemnity (nudge, nudge... great film, see it).

Stones Throw's got a free MP3 link for "Femme Fatale" here. Aloe Blacc's new album, Good Things, just came out this week. Cop if you dig.
