Mos Def: A Fan of DOOM

This has gotta be one of the most insightful videos I've seen in a good minute. Courtesy of, Pretty Flaco kicks some of his favorite DOOM lines including a personal fave of my own (from MM..Food): "Is they rhymers or strippin males?/ Outta work jerks since they shut down Chippendales/". Dante ups the ante by claiming that DOOM would murk Wayne, one-on-one, in a battle of lyrical supremacy. What do you think? DOOM vs. Wayne... Even better, what do you think of this: Mos Def featuring DOOM.

  1. It's Bannanas refresh hearing Mos reciting those jawns. Somebody stole my Fondle 'Em Doom Wreckids, Cot Damn.

  2. he rhymes like I feel

I wish rappers would do this all the time. Lyricists (even those not on Def's level) should celebrate and share their influences. No time to hop onto a "Letter to BIG" remix? Record something like this. Chillin', kickin' around dope quotes. It's illuminating for us hip hop heads and rewarding to the artists.

Saintly of Mos to pay homage like this: that's some real--and deserved--respect.

  3. Doom all the way , he's more cleverer

  4. I like DOOM over Wayne any day.

DOOM is over alot of these cats heads.

  5. everybody over wayne. what real emcee i.e. Mos Def, Doom, Talib Kweli, Krs-One, Murs, Elzhi etc etc couldn't rip wayne a new a-hole. wayne is trash. Wayne, Asher Roth and Charles Hamilton should form the super wack rap pack.

  6. this is the best thing on this site...

    good lookin out Ivan

After seeing this it made me go re-listen to Doom, and I appreciate him even more now

  7. Doom and def are both dope. And So Is Asher Roth
