Eric B. & Rakim - Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em [The Samples]

Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em received a 5 Mic rating from The Source, and this was back when The Source was relevant. It goes without saying that this album was nearly flawless. Though it lacked the presence of major singles which it's two predecessors (Paid in Full and Follow the Leader) possessed, it was a solid release nonetheless. In fact, many would argue that Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em was the duo's most solid album. I recently found out via Peter Rosenberg & Cipha Sounds (Juan Epstein) that Large Professor was involved in the production of this album. I've got enormous respect for Extra P, so I ventured to pile up all the samples from this classic record. And here they are! Twenty-three samples including some vintage cuts by Bob James, James Brown, Skull Snaps, Lyn Collins and more! Enjoy!

  1. Aw man! This was the first Eric B. & Rakim album I bought! Their finest hour, outside of the first three tracks on "Follow The Leader". And who can forget the video with the midget? Awesome album, and a great sample set. You da man, Ivan. You da MF'in man.
