A Tribe Called Quest - People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm [The Samples]

Another Tribe collab with my boy John @ Lyrics to Go. This one happens to be my favorite ATCQ album of them all. Considered too "hippie"-ish* by many critics, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm did for me what De La Soul's 3 Feet High & Rising did as well: it gave me a glimpse at a softer, more true-to-heart feel of hip hop. It's youthfulness and playfulness, matched with its kick-back/mellow style perhaps justifies the "hippie" label... But I'm cool with that! ;-D

This sample set is packed with relaxing and funky cuts, including tracks by jazz greats like Roy Ayers, Cannonball Adderley & Grover Washington, Jr., R&B giants like Stevie, Maze, and Earth, Wind & Fire - as well as some unexpected turns like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Velvet Underground's Lou Reed. Sit back and escape with this sh*t right here... *FEED YOUR HEAD!
