Insomniacs Club (Wildfire Edition) with Kool Keith

^ Dr. Octagon a.k.a. Kool Keith up to his ol' alter-go schtick. ^

"From the forest fire/
Movin out, movin out from the forest fire/
Movin out the elements/
Y-y-y- you know my central intelligence/
Like the elephants/
"
Lyrics

It's definitely an important message though - if you get past all the zaniness. Plus: it's really applicable to the sh*t we've been going through down here in SoCal.

If you haven't heard, there's been a vicious onslaught of wildfires throughout many rural parts of the county, leading all the way up to Malibu and all the way down to Diego and even Mexico. And the recent dry weather coupled with the heavy desert winds has just exacerbated the whole situation.

Already, half of a million people have been evacuated. It's not as bad as Katrina, thank G-d, but it's pretty bad.

Speaking of which: political blogger Will Bunch just wrote a piece titled 'Ain't That America: Rich evacuees, poor evacuees.' Check it out right here!

Anyways, if you'd like to get a better perspective as to what's going on down here, I've uploaded a couple of expandable pictures:

^ That's a satellite pic taken by NASA to show the breadth of the fires. ^
[Check out all that smoke!]

^ Another satellite view, courtesy of Google Maps. ^
[The Green Arrow indicates my location]

^ A photoshopped juxtaposition of the aforementioned photos. ^

Serious sh*t.

I'm planning on taking some snapshots of the sky tomorrow, to show you what it looks like out here during the daytime. Today the sky was a vomitous combination of white, grey and orange. Unbelievable! © Biggie

At the moment it's 7:34 PM and it's 82° outside.

In late October.

Unreal.

Anyways, I'll keep y'all posted...stay up!

P.S. 'Wildfire Edition' with Kool Keith

...get it?
