For those that remember, Jay-Z took the top spot in sales when he dropped The Black Album in 2003. Remember which album bowed at second? Yup! Beg for Mercy by G Unit. Now granted, it was a G Unit album - not a Fiddy album. And the circumstances are a little different now that it's 'Ye and not Jay dropping this time around. But what do you think is gonna happen? President Hov had this to say:
"I think it's great, I think it's a fantastic day for hip-hop," Jay said last week at his Rocawear offices in Manhattan. "I remember having those dates [facing against] Outkast a couple of times. I actually had one with G-Unit [with Beg for Mercy]. It's great. It's a fantastic thing for hip-hop, especially retail. I know they're loving it. You're driving people to the store. We love it, we think it's a fantastic thing."What do you think? Who's gonna take the #1 spot?
